The Rescue of Chile's Miners

The recent successful rescue of the trapped 33 miners of San Jose Mine in Chile is truly an amazing feat- a triumph of engineering, crisis management and human endurance. That the 33 miners were alive and appears to be in good physical condition after being trapped almost half a kilometer down the dephts of the earth for more than 69 days is even a more greater achievement.

The rescue as it unfolds was a gripping spectacle worth watching. I cannot help but mesmerized by the sight of the miners seemingly popping out. It is exhilarating to watch as the miners one by one emerged from the hole to the waiting arms of their loved ones and rescuers.  The seemingly pure joy that shines on the faces of the miners and love ones after days of waiting and worries is contagious. You too will feel happy and light as you watched.

The Chilean government deserves a pat on the back for transforming what could have been another worse mining  disaster into a successful rescue event.

The Weigh-in of "Pacman" and "Hitman"

Tomorrow will be the big day of millions of fans around the world of the two great fighter Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao of the Philippines and Ricky "Hitman" Hatton of Great Britain. Today was the weigh-in of the two boxers to hit the mark of junior-welterweight division. Manny got 138 pounds and Ricky got 140-pound limit. As the two approaches to face-off, thousands of british fans chanting,screaming and endlessly saying in rhythm this phrases "There's only one Ricky Hatton", "God Save the Queen", and "Rule Britannia"with their flag waving proudly. Filipinos as well did their best cheering Manny with high hopes to win for tomorrow's big fight. They did try leveling their cheers to the overwhelming British fans but still overwhelmed by them. Poor But Rich

Have you in your entire life seen this kind of scenery? Do you think this man is really poor? Wow! Amazing! Cool! Truly, this old man is what will be the next generation poor people will look like. Settling in the streets with looks very deceiving but they are computer literate. I think this man in the picture is making a post to his blog, thinking deep thoughts, making articles and maybe finding some advertisers. Sounds crazy but maybe true. Maybe few years from now, from millions of blogger it will turn to billions and billions of blogger and maybe it will be hard to find advertisers. But this is a good thing if this kind of people exists in different parts of the world so people will have more alternatives and will be knowledgeable of the current and future technologies. So guys keep the spirit up because even the smallest and the most ordinary person in the world can do extra-ordinary things to make a little change to them but a big change to the whole world.

Swine Flu Alert!

This news is very frightening and the WHO or World Health Organization warned the world to be on alert for any unusual flu outbreaks after a unique swine flu was implicated to dozens of human deaths in North America. This made Margaret Chan the Director-General of WHO to constitute the public health emergency into international concern. This means that countries around the world will be ask to report any suspicious flu like viruses which maybe a pandemic potential because of it's an animal virus strain infecting humans. At least 62 people have died from a severe pneumonia with a flu-like illness of that in Mexico which was confirmed by WHO . Some of those who died reportedly died with unique cases of flu. Some flu infected to those who died where combination of bird, pig and human viruses. The good news is that 8 people that were reportedly infected with swine flu recovered in California and Texas.
